Kendrick Lamar's album just came out. It's even better than I could've hoped for. Why? It's an actual, proper album. Not a collection of great songs (Currensy's 'Stoned Immaculate', my second/third* favourite album of the year, falls under this category) but a full on, start to finish album. In fact it's so good that I'd promised to wait two months before I wrote a proper review. But inital thoughts? At the very least, it's my album of the year by a country mile. But it's too soon to be crowning it anything else.
*Frank Ocean's 'Channel Orange' comes second or third depending on my moods.
